Xpressions Café

Xpressions Café is a way of doing church which tries to connect with people who find church a bit difficult or threatening. At the heart of Xpressions Café is Xpresso, which serves tea and coffee (Fairtrade, of course), home-made cake, and Sunday papers in the Church Room at All Saints, Chedgrave on the first Sunday of every month.

Xpresso is open from 10.00 to 12:00 and people come and go as they choose. Some come just to enjoy the relaxed surroundings and to enjoy the coffee and company (there is no charge for anything we do at Xpressions Café).

Others decide to go upstairs and participate in Xpressions, which normally starts at about 10:00. Xpressions caters especially for children and families (though all are welcome). Here you will find craft activities, food, songs, stories, prayer and fun—all based around the theme for the day.

The third component of the Café is Xplore, which offers informal discussion in the church building at 10:30 and then the chance for everyone who wishes to come together at 11:30 for a final session using video, activities, discussion, song, and much more.

In Xpressions Café people choose what they will do or not do. One of the things we love is that partners can come and read the papers and drink coffee while other family members might be in Xpressions or Xplore enjoying different activities. Our slogan is it's church, Jim, but not as we know it, and our core value is ‘extravagant hospitality’. Come along and see for yourself.
