Robert Soanes is married with three children. He was a licensed insolvency
practitioner and was leading a church in Lowestoft while pursuing his career
until he was ordained fourteen years ago. He trained at Wesley College in
Bristol and is currently minister at South Lowestoft Methodist Church, the
Raveningham Local Ecumenical Partnership, Oulton Community Church and Wenhaston
Methodist Church as well as Loddon.

I have been a Reader for 18 years, and moved here from London 10 years ago to return to my Norfolk roots. I have been a teacher for even longer, at present in a Primary school in Norwich. I have just embarked on the role of mentoring Alison Ball in her first year of OLM training, and Richard McPhee in his final year of Reader training, and during the vacancy I am preaching and/or leading worship at approximately three-weekly intervals.
Before
I was ordained OLM deacon, I was a Reader for twenty-seven years, and regularly
led worship and preached, in all the churches within the benefice. I have also
conducted funerals for many years and regard this as an important part of
pastoral care. As I live in Hales, it seemed natural that I should have a
special responsibility for that village post-ordination. So I am seeking
pastoral opportunities amongst my neighbours.

I
trained for the ministry at Ridley Hall Theological College, Cambridge and was
ordained in 2006. I currently serve as Priest in Charge in the Waveney Benefice
(four days a week) and as Assistant Priest in the Chet Valley Benefice on
Wednesdays and Thursdays. My primary area of work in the Chet Valley is in
pastoral care. I am married to Peter and have a 20 year old son, who is living
and studying in Norwich. My previous career was as a trained nurse and midwife,
where I specialised in Neonatal Intensive Care.

I
was ordained deacon in 2004 and have been working as NSM Associate Vicar here
since February 2007. As well as ordinary parish ministry, I am involved in Xpressions Café
and quite a lot of children and families work. I originally studied physics and maths,
then
became a BBC documentary film editor for 20 years before moving into management
and on to work as a freelance organisation consultant, a small amount of which I
still do.
