Benefice Council

A Benefice Council exists, with delegated authority from each of the PCCs.

Each PCC contributes an annual sum, in proportion to their parish share, to the Benefice Fund. This is used to pay clergy and office expenses. The benefice treasurer also manages a Youth Fund and a Mission Fund, used to support our outreach and mission work here in the benefice.

The Benefice Council meets bi-monthly and is composed as follows:

Members elected by their PCCs:

Church in Loddon:                 3 members.

All Saints, Chedgrave:          3 members.

St Margaret,  Hardley:           2 members.

St Mary, Sisland:                       2 members.

St Michael, Langley:               2 members.

Members by virtue of their office:

Licensed clergy.

Children & Families Worker.

Treasurer.

 Youth Worker.

[Secretary/Minute taker (not voting)]

A quorum for a meeting is one third of Council members.

If there is a need to make a decision in between Council meetings, the Chair, Lay Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and two other appointed Council members can meet to make a decision. They are authorised to spend up to £500 from the Benefice Account..
